The Public Policy & Governance Major provides students with the analytical tools and practical insights needed to understand and shape policymaking in Canada and globally. It draws on multidisciplinary perspectives, including economics, political science, law, and public administration, and integrates classroom learning with experiential education opportunities.
This is a limited enrolment program. Students must have completed 4.0 credits and meet the requirements listed below to enrol.
Variable Minimum Grade
A minimum grade/minimum grade average in required courses is needed for entry, and this minimum changes each year depending on available spaces and the number of applicants. The following courses must be completed:
- ECO101H1 and ECO102H1 with a final mark of at least at least 63%, or ECO105Y1 with a final mark of at least 80%, and
- 0.5 credit from MUN150H1/ MUN160H1/ MUN170H1/ MUN180H1, with a minimum mark of 65%, and
- Either
- An additional 0.5 credit from MUN150H1/ MUN160H1/ MUN170H1/ MUN180H1 with a minimum mark of 65%, or
- 0.5 credit from MUN100H1/ POL101H1/ POL106H1/ POL107H1/ POL109H1/ POL191H1/ POL192H1/ TRN160Y1/ TRN161Y1/ TRN151Y1/ TRN136Y1/ VIC122H1/ VIC134H1/ VIC181H1/ VIC183H1/ VIC184H1/ VIC185H1/ VIC187H1/ VIC188H1/ NEW106H1/ NEW111H1/ NEW161H1 with a minimum mark of 65%.
To ensure that students admitted to the program will be successful, applicants with final grades lower than the minimum grades stated above will not be considered for admission. Please note that obtaining these minimum final grades does not guarantee admission to the program.

- Not all courses have priority enrolment for Public Policy students. Students are responsible for checking priority of courses and meeting course prerequisites they wish to take. Checking prerequisites is especially important with respect to ECO courses, many of which require the completion of first year Mathematics courses as pre-requisites.
