Welcome to the Faculty of Arts & Science—Canada’s largest and most comprehensive academic division. Whether you are new to Arts & Science, or a returning student, I encourage you to take advantage of the extraordinary breadth of learning opportunities available to you. With more than 340 undergraduate programs to choose from, Arts & Science students can build a unique and personalized degree by combining courses and programs from diverse subject areas—from African studies to data science to criminology and sociolegal studies, just to name a few!

In-class courses represent one of the many educational modalities at the Faculty. Research, international, creative and professional opportunities also await you. In addition to providing an unforgettable student experience, these opportunities are designed to help you appreciate the complexity and interconnectedness of our world and provide practical, hands-on learning.

As you navigate your degree, remember all of the resources and services that are available to help you achieve your goals. Your college is your home base, equipped with a writing centre and academic advisors to aid your success. There are also online tools like Sidney Smith Commons, as well as dedicated supports for mental health and wellness.

I wish you an exciting and rewarding academic year and look forward to seeing you around campus!
