MGY250H1: Introduction to Medical Genetics

36L

Explore how our rapidly advancing understanding of genomics is revolutionizing medicine from researchers and clinicians at the forefront of the field. Students will start by learning the fundamentals of genome function, then move on to the mechanisms of genetic disease and their translation into clinical practice. Throughout the course, students will confront the ethical issues inherent to medical genetics, necessary preparation for understanding the complex landscape of genetic testing and treatment later in the course. Lectures are delivered online, asynchronously. The final exam is held in person on the St. George campus.
