Students will learn to engage more deeply in scholarly conversations by writing academic essays informed by research. Through scaffolded assignments students will learn to write thesis statements that embrace complexity and use scholarly evidence to support their arguments. Readings include academic and non-academic prose from a variety of disciplines.
