SOC491H1: Independent Research

This course is by application, submitted to the Department by the Monday before the term begins. Students work independently with a professor in the Department who acts as research supervisor. There are no formal class meetings, lectures, or readings other than what is agreed to with the supervisor. Professors accept supervisory responsibility at their discretion. Students approach a professor working in the same sub-discipline of sociology. This course is not eligible for CR/NCR option. Students must have completed 15.0 credits towards their degree, which includes a 0.5 credit SOC course at the 300+ level to be eligible for 400-level Independent Research.
