The goal of this course is to introduce students to key ideas about data-intensive business decision-making. Students will become familiar with the link between decisions and data. Students will see how decisions improve substantially when data is used to better understand business situations. The essential factor is to understand the link between decisions that are made and “expected outcomes”. The strength and reliability of these links is based on probabilistic concepts (e.g. distributions, measures of variability and co-variability, standard errors and statistical hypothesis).
