This course introduces students to the process of conducting research and writing in the study of religion. It is a hands-on seminar that walks students through the different steps of the research process. Over the course of the term students identify and work on their own small-scale research projects. Topics may include: research design, research ethics, quantitative and qualitative methods, working with primary and secondary sources, analysis, academic writing, politics of citation, and alternative (multi-media) forms of knowledge sharing. This course is primarily intended for majors and specialists in the study of religion.
