This course focuses on the ways that religion and science are deeply interconnected in ways that matter for everyone, regardless of their convictions or expertise. Examining conflicts and convergences among scientific and religious perspectives on the human body and the natural world, course topics may include such issues as pandemic responses, debates over human evolution, views on climate change and reproductive rights, ethics and practices related to digital technologies and issues of authority, power, and contested knowledge in scientific arenas.
