This course is an introductory language course for students with minimal prior knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). It builds on the knowledge and skills gained in American Sign Language 1 and further immerses students in the language, literature, culture, and community associated with ASL. Additionally, it offers students opportunities to enhance their comprehension and production skills through content-specific conversations and interactive activities that utilize accurate ASL vocabulary, classifiers, phrases, grammatical structures, and non-manual markers across different contexts and purposes. (This course does not count towards the Linguistics minor, major, or specialist programs).
