Introduction to basic techniques for evaluating, analyzing, and understanding the construction of Indigeneity as it is communicated through film, television, and other media. Examination of racial stereotypes and the role of mass communication in perpetuating and challenging stereotypes, cultural appropriation, Indigenous media production, impact of media portrayal of Indigenous peoples.
