INS110H1: Introduction to Conversational Anishinaabemowin

36L

This course will introduce students to Anishinaabemowin, the language of the Anishinaabe people (an Indigenous people of the Great Lakes), with a focus on greetings and basic conversation. The course is highly interactive and will engage students in dialogues that reflect real-life uses while also introducing them to nuances in how the language functions in different settings. This course is intended to give students some speaking skills along with an appreciation for the importance of the language to Anishinaabe communities. While the course is appropriate for Indigenous Studies majors, it is accessible to students from other units as well.
