Introduces students to current issues in the history of psychiatry and some of the major developments in the evolution of this unique medical specialty. the format is class discussion based on themes covered in the course textbook, covering such topics as changing perspectives on the nature of psychotic illness, the psychoneuroses, disorders of the mind/body relationship, psychiatric diagnosis, and presentations of illness.
