This course aims to strengthen Korean language learners’ literacy skills by developing reading fluency, comprehension, and critical analysis across diverse genres. Students will engage with authentic texts and practice reflective reading to expand vocabulary, deepen cultural understanding, and sharpen higher-order skills such as interpreting, summarizing, and evaluating. In addition, extensive reading activities, with books chosen by students according to their interests, proficiency levels, and instructor guidance, will foster confidence and independence as readers. By balancing cultural insight with critical engagement, the course supports advanced communication skills and complements oral communication classes. Lectures will be conducted in a mix of Korean and English to facilitate both acquisition and comprehension.
