Intended for students with no background in Mandarin or any Chinese dialect, this course provides an introduction to modern standard Chinese as a foreign/second language. The course consists of mandatory lectures and tutorials. Students study a minimum of 500 Chinese characters. Students must go through screening process conducted by the Department.
